At The Oddstrument Collection, I want to help pioneering musicians and instrument inventors get public attention. The goal here is to give you (the artist) public recognition opportunities that you would not otherwise get from the mainstream media. Your stupid ideas are more valuable than you think.

Artists are the worlds most valuable asset. I say this because as industrial automation becomes the standard and manual labor is phased out, creativity becomes the only distinguishing quality in the marketplace. Traditional human labor jobs are replaced by machines which eliminate the need for the craftsman. The craftsman of which I speak is not an artist, but simply a human manufacturer that gets paid to build exactly from a plan with no deviation from that plan. For example, I work with professional furniture makers and I see their jobs being taken away by a computer (CNC) which controls a machine-tool. This machine-tool can produce identical pieces of furniture faster than any human and for significantly less money (a $20,000 one time investment). These ‘furniture printers’ as I like to call them, need only one thing: the design. The design is what separates the successful products from the failures. A cutting-edge design will keep any competitive company floating above the rest. This is why designers, artists, musicians, and all other creative thinkers are so valuable at this time in history. If your design is a true representation of your abilities, YOU are the asset - YOU are the “bread and butter.” Therefore, YOU are what individuals, businesses, and societies will value most and aspire to become.
